Welcome back to the King of Fighters tournament! With this, the latest installment of the legendary SNK fighting game series! Taking elements from both KOF '99 and the new KOF 2000, KOF Evo brings hardcore fighting game action, slick characters, newcomers, oldcomers, and everyone in between back for one of the greatest fighting game experiences you'll ever see! In this game, the version of the stages are selectable and separate. In the Japanese version, the game is compatible with the Neo Geo Pocket/Dreamcast Setsuzoku Cable, which allows the player to transfer their points won in The King of Fighters: Battle de Paradise to speed up the leveling process for Extra Strikers. The changes from the original game include 3D stages and the addition of striker characters. As a result, some characters of the roster ( Vanessa and Seth), as well as characters from other franchises and originals that appear as strikers in KOF 2000, appear as special strikers in this game. This game reunite elements from both KOF '99 Neo Geo version and The King of Fighters 2000, released in July of that same year, and introduce the Special Strikers, an item that didn't exist in the original game. Like it's predecessor, the game was never released in Europe.
